Signature Note from the Institute
The Institute of Parliamentary and Political Law is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the understanding and strengthening of democratic governing.
Toward these ends, it engages in professional and educational activities aimed at interdisciplinary, comprehensive and comparative analysis of public affairs. The Institute is politically neutral, autonomous from any partisan political organizations or interests and does not engage in advocacy. It is based in Ottawa and includes Canada-wide membership from the legal, public policy and administration, and political science communities.
Its honorary patron is the Chief Justice of Canada. The Journal of Parliamentary and Political Law is the Institute’s voice in the forum of ideas on public affairs.
